LANCASTER, Pa. – The Delaware Valley women's basketball team took an early lead over Lancaster Bible that it wouldn't relinquish defeating the Chargers 69-61 on Saturday afternoon. The victory marks the first-career win for first-year head coach Lauren Stackhouse.
 
The Aggies took a 7-0 run through the first minute to take an early lead. Lancaster Bible cut the deficit to three before a Haley Keenan layup started off an 8-2 run to pull ahead by nine, 15-6. DelVal maintained its edge until the final seconds when the Chargers fired off a three-pointer to bring the deficit down to six, 19-13, at the end of the first quarter.
 
The duo of Keenan and Jayla Rivera combined for four points in the first 20 seconds of the second frame to extend the Aggies' lead into double digits, 23-13. The Chargers responded by cutting the advantage to just three, 23-20, but Alexis Wright spearheaded a 12-10 run to keep the Aggies ahead, 35-30, heading into the half.
 
DelVal went on to build up its largest lead of the game in the third quarter opening the frame on a 15-10 run with contributions from Rivera, Keenan, Wright and Aubrey Ennis to pull ahead by 15, 50-35. Momentum shifted in favor of the Chargers, who used a 12-2 run to cut the deficit down to five, 52-47, at the end of the quarter.
 
The Aggies held a 17-14 edge over the Chargers in the final 10 minutes shooting 5-of-12 from the field and a game-high 7-of-11shots from the charity stripe. Keenan and Ennis led the efforts for the Aggies with a combined 10 points in the frame helping to push DelVal to victory, 69-61.
 
Three Aggies ended the night in double-digit scoring with Wright recording a team-high 20 points in the game. Wright and Rivera added 15 and 10 rebounds a piece to mark both players' first double-double games of the season.
 
DelVal comes back to James Work Gymnasium for its home-opener on Wednesday, Nov. 13 when they host Penn State Abington at 6 p.m.
