DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – After an early goal by Albright College,
Olivia Ball equalized for Delaware Valley women's soccer, securing their first draw of the season.
The game kicked off with a shot from
Jess Williamson, but it was Audrey Solt who put the Lions ahead with a free kick that hit the crossbar and found its way past goalkeeper
Viola Anderson in the 11th minute. Just a minute later, Albright narrowly missed extending their lead, hitting the post. Both teams showcased tight defense, managing only one shot on goal each in the first half, with
Jarleny Aguilar-Acuna firing wide just before the halftime horn.
The Aggies faced a challenging start to the second half, committing four consecutive fouls in the opening minutes.
Gillian Baker attempted two shots in the 54th minute, with one landing on target. At 66:38, Williamson quickly maneuvered around two defenders and set up Ball, who was wide open in front of the net to score, leveling the game at one.
Ten minutes later,
Mari Colosimo sent a shot wide, and both Baker and Ball had their attempts saved by Albright keeper McKenna Levan, who made seven crucial stops throughout the match.
Alexa DelGiudice had the final opportunity to score but was once again stopped by Levan.
Following the tie, Delaware Valley women's soccer moved to 2-9-1 and will begin the bulk of the MAC Freedom schedule on Saturday, Oct. 12, at King's College.
