Williamson Banks Lone Aggie Marker in Loss to No. 6 Misericordia

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – Delaware Valley women soccer fell to the sixth ranked Misericordia Cougars on Tuesday afternoon 5-1.

The Aggies found the back of the net in the opening minute off the foot of Marissa Rogers but the goal was called back as DelVal was called offsides.

Misericordia banked five goals through the first half off 15 shots on goal. Jess Williamson and Jarleny Aguilar-Acuna landed shots forcing Lauren Mondor to make saves.

A chance came for the Aggies in the 64th minute when Gillian Baker rang a free kick off the cross bar. The rebound bounced to Rogers who headed it over the net.

Ten minutes later at 73:34 a cross by Olivia Ball bounced around to Williamson who buried it to put the Aggies on the board scoring her sixth goal of season. After the goal was scored, a yellow card was dished to Misericordia's Brenna Field.

Viola Anderson played all 90 minutes defending the cage, making a season high 17 saves.

Falling to 2-12-1 (0-4 MAC Freedom), the Aggies are next in action at Arcadia University this Saturday, Oct. 26 with kickoff set for 3:00 p.m.
