CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – The Delaware Valley women's volleyball team dropped the first two sets before securing a win in the third, ultimately falling in the fourth and final set to DeSales.
The Aggies maintained a small edge over the Bulldogs to start the first until a short 3-0 run closed the gap leading the teams to a back-and-forth battle for the lead. The fight was ended by DeSales using a 10-1 run to take a nine-point lead, 21-12. The Aggies put up six more points in the set, falling by a final score of 25-18.

Gretta Schneider and
Grace Kane started the scoring in favor of the Aggies in set two. Quickly the Bulldogs pulled ahead putting up four unanswered points maintaining its lead until a kill from
Emma Helverson kicked off a small 3-0 spurt to put DelVal back on top, 12-11. The lead continued to change hands with DeSales finishing the set on a 4-2 run for the 25-22 win.
Victoria Tucker started things strong in the third set with a service ace to start a 5-2 run for the Aggies. DeSales evened the score twice before maintaining no more than a two-point lead until a 6-0 run from the Aggies put them ahead by four, 17-13. The Bulldogs remained in chase, falling behind by as many as five points before mounting a six-point comeback to take the lead, 22-21. The Aggies finished the set with the 5-2 edge for the 26-24 win.
The Bulldogs used a 7-2 run in the fourth set to establish an early lead over DelVal. The Aggies fought back but wouldn't get closer than one point of the lead twice before DeSales extended the gap to four, 16-12. DelVal used a 4-1 run to bring it back within a single point again, but the Bulldogs maintained their edge finishing things off with a 5-0 run for the win, 25-19.
The Aggies return to action on the road this Thursday, Oct. 17 when they face Gwynedd Mercy at 7 p.m.
