Men's Basketball Fall in Nailbiter to LVC 76-72

Annville, Pa. - At one point down 15, then taking the lead, the Delaware Valley men's basketball team falls to Lebanon Valley 76-72.

Alec Hilliard sank the first Aggie bucket of the game, hitting on a pair of three-pointers to put DelVal up early 8-2. Holding the six-point advantage, Jordan Gombs found Colin MacAdams off the bench and under the basket for a layup. At the halfway point in the half, a turnover and a few offensive rebounds brought the Dutchman within three points, and soon took the lead 20-19 off a pair of free throws. MacAdams drained a three to tie the game at 22 before Coach Kaba called a timeout. LVC finished the first half on a 12-0 run, holding the Aggies scoreless for the final 3:48, to go to the locker room up 36-24.

Godly Marc early three as the Aggies and Dutchman traded buckets through the first three minutes. Hilliard sank another three at 15:23, this would give him his first career double-digit scoring game, ending the contest with 16 points going 4-5 in three range. Rasheem Dearry and Hilliard hit back-to-back threes bringing them back to within four, down 46-42 with 12 minutes to go. Later with 5:16 left, Tyriq Toney-Bailey put in a layup and was sent to the line to give the Aggies a 60-58 lead. The Dutchman recaptured the lead 67-64 with one minute to go. Dearry drained a three-point shot with 30 seconds to go but it was not enough, Aggies falling 76-72.

Following the loss, the Aggies losing streak extends to three games, and falls to 6-7 overall (0-2 MAC Freedom). They will look to get back in the win column on Wednesday, January 10 at FDU-Florham.
