Center Valley, Pa. - Delaware Valley women's soccer dropped their first conference contest for the 2023 season to DeSales University 4-2 on Saturday morning.
The Bulldogs netted the only goal of the first half at the 29-minute mark when Elizabeth McCarthy scored over the head of Viola Anderson off a corner kick.
Action for the Aggies picked up in the second half when Jess Williamson kicked a through ball to Savannah Rennix who beat the challenging keeper, low left to tie the game at 63:03. DeSales quickly recaptured the lead, scoring goals in the 66th and 70th minute, the second going off the left post and in. A minute later, Kailey Horton scored a header goal off a corner kick feed from Gillian Baker. Tori Harnett would seal the victory for the Bulldogs scoring their fourth goal at 83:25.
Following the loss, the Aggies fell to 6-5-1 overall and 0-1-0 in the MAC Freedom. DelVal next takes on King's College at Robert A. Lipinski Field on Saturday, October 8 for Alumni Day at noon.
