Doylestown, Pa. - The Delaware Valley men's soccer team defeated Bryn Athyn Wednesday afternoon 4-1 scoring two in each half.
Junior Peirce Marcs got the party started just 2:40 into the game, assisted by senior Danny Henson finding the back of the net. It only took four more minutes for the Aggies to strike again, Sophomore Austin Voisine passed the ball up to Aaron Osbourn who chipped it over the keeper, making it 2-0. Junior Andrew Roberto came in the game to replace keeper Liam Morris who went down with an injury in the 24th minute. The Lions halved their disadvantage at 29:55 as Nathan Scavo beat Roberto high right.
Bryn Athny's AJ Falgiatore was given a yellow card in the 52nd minute then nine minutes later, Voisine earned himself a yellow card after some pushing and shoving. DelVal added a pair of insurance goals that were scored 12 seconds apart by Bennett Nordhoff and Peirce to make the score 4-1 Aggies.
With the victory the Aggies improve to 2-2 and next matchup with Centenary University (NJ) on Robert A Lipinski Field on Friday, Septemeber 15 with kickoff scheduled for 5:00 p.m. Bryn Athyn falls to 0-3 and take on Gwynedd Mercy on Saturday, September 16.
