Doylestown, Pa. - The Delaware Valley University men's soccer team outpaced Centenary University in a 1-0 victory, outshooting the Cyclones 26-2.
The Aggies dominated the first 45 minutes of scoreless action at Robert A. Lipinski Field. Rourke Watson hit the crossbar at the three-minute mark as DVU outshot the Cyclones 7-0 with a pair of those shots on goal. Micheal Maxwell was given a yellow card in the final five minutes of the half.
Two yellow cards were dished out to Dylan Cochran and Branden Hedderich around the 60th minute as things heated up. At 68:59 a defensive error by the Cyclones sent Pierce Marks in who passed it over to Danny Henson who beat a defender and the keeper to score the lone goal of the game. The game got chippy in the closing minutes as emotion boiled over and more yellow cards were handed out to DelVal's Amos Debah, Colin Heisler, and Watson; along with Centenary's Peter Discafani. Aggies keeper Andrew Roberto only had to make one save in the full 90 minutes.
With the victory, DelVal improves to 3-2-0 and begins a four-game road swing on Tuesday, September 19 facing Eastern University.
