Women's Soccer Drops Early Advantage to Bryn Mawr 3-2

Bryn Mawr, Pa. - Delaware Valley University gave up an early 2-0 advantage to Bryn Mawr College on Tuesday afternoon falling 3-2 late.

Junior midfielder Gillian Baker got the Aggies on the board first, off a free-kick goal just three minutes into the game. Junior forward Jess Williamson then made the score 2-0 when she beat a defender running down the left side to sneak it low left past the goalkeeper at 9:06. The Owls cut the lead in half in the 23rd minute when a rebound off junior goalkeeper Viola Anderson popped right to Rece Anton for a goal. DelVal took a slight 11-10 shots advantage going into halftime, and Anderson recorded six saves.

After back-and-forth action for much of the first 30 minutes, Bryn Mawr captured the lead, scoring back-to-back goals in the 73rd and 77th minute. Senior midfielder Marley Bramsway threatened to re-tie the game but hit the crossbar with the shot at 86:28.

DelVal falls below .500 following the loss with a 2-3-0 record. They are next in action at home against Immaculata University on Thursday, September 14 at 4:00 p.m. Bryn Mawr improved to 2-2-2 and next see Franklin and Marshall on Saturday, September 16.
