Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Competes at Osprey Open

GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP (Nj)--- The Delaware Valley men's and women's track and field teams took part in the Osprey Open at Stockton University at a two-day event on Friday and Saturday.

Adam Coleman led the men's team with a first place finish in the 400 meter dash with a time of 51.75s, qualifying him for the MAC Championships.

James Mahana broke the school record in the hammer throw with a throw of 45.78 meters, giving him a new PR as well.

Mahana competed in the shot put as well, taking home sixth place with a throw of 13.41m. Brandon Perot finished right behind in seventh place with a throw of 13.36m.

Caleb Messenger competed in the 800 meter run with a third place finish at a time of 2:01.08.

Matthew Skikus PR'd in the 1,500 meter run with a time of 4:36.02.

Carter Owen finished in the fifth place in the 10,000 meter run with a time of 35:14.34.

On the women's side, Alyssa Blackmon PR'd in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 19:17.54. Blackmon also set a personal best in the 3,000 meter steeplechase with a time of 12:28.23, giving her a second place finish in the event. That mark is also the second fastest mark in the MAC this season.

Kelly Hastings qualified for the MAC championships in the 100 meter dash, as she finished with a time of 13.63s. Hastings then took home tenth place in the 200 meter dash at 28.54s.

In the javelin, Delaney Hilferty finished in fourth place with a throw of 30.96m. Hilferty threw 9.55m in the shot put to finish in 13th and also competed in the discus, throwing 29.27m in 16th place.

The Aggies will return to action Saturday, April 15th at the Bill Butler Invite at West Chester University.
