Baseball Ends Non-Conference Play On The Road At Drew

MAIDSON (Nj.) – The Delaware Valley University baseball team traveled to Drew University for its final non-conference game of the season, and the middle leg of a three straight games, and came home with a narrow 5-3 setback.

The Aggies (13-22) scored the first run of the game in the top of the third when first-year Gavin Migliori hit a shot to right field and made his way all the way around the bases to score. He was credited with a triple and an error and DelVal took a 1-0 lead.

In the bottom of the third, the Rangers (14-20) hit three doubles as part of a four-hit, five-run inning. Fritch had one of the doubles and picked up three RBI. The Aggies committed an error in the frame that led to four runs being unearned.

The DelVal bullpen held Drew to five hits over the final five innings, but the offense managed just four hits through the final six. The Aggies scored one in the sixth thanks to a pair of fielding errors, and they got one in the second as Migliori pitched in again with a single and a stolen base.

Migliori led the team with his two hits and a run scored and Liam Martin walked twice and scored. Reese Hackett was 1-for-3 with a run scored. John Slover pitched six innings and allowed just one earned run on seven hits and three walks. Orion Fraley pitched the final six outs without a run allowed and four hits against.

Fritch and Jones combined for five hits, three RBI, and two runs scored to lead the Rangers and Kobryn earned the win with six strikeouts in seven innings of work.
