Men's Lacrosse Downed By Misericordia In Road MAC Freedom Contest

DALLAS (Pa.) – The Delaware Valley University men's lacrosse team fell into a 9-0 hole and could not climb out as host Misericordia University pulled away with an 18-7 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom victory.

The Cougars (8-7, 4-2 MAC Freedom) were up 9-0 with 5:30 left in the first half as Jared Pelliccione led the charge with three goals.

Daniel Aulisi and Kieren Schneider got the Aggies (6-10, 3-5 MAC Freedom) on the board with goals separated by just 24 seconds.

Robert Wagner tacked on his third of the half with a minute left to give the Cougars a 10-2 lead at the break. Misericordia outscored DelVal, 8-5, in the second half to secure the win.

Aulisi scored twice in the second half when George Evanick and Brett Ziegler added one each in the final two minutes of regulation. Aulisi led the Aggies with four points on three goals and an assist and Evanick had a goal and an assist. Ziegler had two goals. Frederick Offenburger was 14-for-29 on faceoffs and Bryce Regan led the team with seven ground balls. Aidan Purcell played all 60 minutes in goal and made 11 saves.

Pelliccione finished with six goals and Wagner had a game-high seven points on three goals and four assists.

The Aggies will play the final game of the regular season on Wednesday, April 26 at 7 p.m. at home against Stevens.
