Aulisi's Record Setting Day Not Enough For Men's Lacrosse In Season Finale Against #17 Stevens

DOYLESTOWN (Pa.) – First-year Daniel Aulisi scored four times and notched five points, but the Delaware Valley University men's lacrosse team fell to nationally-ranked Stevens Institute of Technology, 22-7, in the season finale for the Aggies.

The Ducks, coming off back-to-back Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom championships, are ranked 17th in the nation this year and improved to 14-2 overall and a perfect 7-0 in league play. They will enter the conference playoffs next week as the top-seed.

Aulisi scored four goals in the fourth quarter to set new program records for goals and points in a single season. The rookie finished the year with 39 goals and 62 points, surpassing Chris Coyle's 36 goals in 2018 and PJ Rafferty's 60 point season during his rookie campaign in 2016.

Aulisi's assist came on a man-up goal scored by fellow first-year Kieran Schneider with 2:08 left in the first quarter.

Stevens raced out to a 12-1 lead at halftime and outscored the home team, 10-6, in the second half to earn the win.

Schneider finished the game with two goals and an assist for three points and senior Sean Mylod had five ground balls, three caused turnovers and an assist. Senior Brett Ziegler added his 24th goal of the season and senior Riley Savering played all 60 minutes in net and made 28 saves, the most saves by a goalie in a game in program history.

Five different goalies combined for the win for the Ducks and Kevin Crowley led the way with eight goals and two assists for 10 points.

DelVal finished the regular season 6-11 overall and 2-6 in conference play under first-year head coach Will Lawlor.
