CENTER VALLEY (Pa.)--- The Delaware Valley baseball team traveled to DeSales for a MAC Freedom doubleheader on Saturday and came away on the losing end in both games. The Bulldogs took game one 15-3 and game two 11-5.
GAME ONE
DeSales (19-16, 12-9) scored a run in the first, two in the second, and a run in both the third and fourth to lead 5-0. The Bulldogs blew the game open in the sixth with ten runs on seven hits to lead 15-0. DelVal (13-20, 7-13) added three runs in the top of the seventh with an RBI single by Sean Gledhill and a two-run single by James Miskanic.
GAME TWO
Garrett Zimmerman put the Aggies on the board first in the top of the first with an RBI double down the right field line. James Miskanic brought home Zimmerman in the inning with a groundout, giving DelVal a 2-0 lead after a half inning.
DeSales quickly responded in the bottom of the frame with seven runs. Travis Kerr delivered the big blow of the inning with a grand slam.
In the top of the second, Reese Hackett hit his first home run of the season, a two-run shot, to cut the deficit to 7-4. Nick Koch had an RBI single in the third to bring the Aggies to within two at 7-5.
A pair of wild pitches in the fourth extended the DeSales lead to 9-5 and a two-run single by Gabe Diaz in the fifth brought home the final two runs of the game to give the Bulldogs an 11-5 victory.
Garrett Zimmerman went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI an a run scored. Liam Martin and Nick Koch each went 2-for-3 for the Aggies.
Travis Kerr went 3-for-3 with four RBIs and a home run for DeSales. Carson Allison, Gabe Diaz and J.T. Anderosky each had two hits for DeSales.
The Aggies will head to Lycoming on Tuesday, April 25th for a 5 p.m. start.
