CENTER VALLEY (Pa.) – In a game that began on Saturday but did not conclude until Monday due to play being suspended thanks to thunderstorms, host DeSales University ultimately claimed a 24-1 victory over Delaware Valley University women's lacrosse in Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom play.
The Bulldogs (4-9, 1-3 MAC Freedom) got out to a 9-0 lead before the contest was suspended due to consistent threats of lightning in the area.
When play resumed, the Aggies (3-9, 1-4 MAC Freedom) found themselves in a 23-point hole midway through the final stanza.
DelVal earned a man-up advantage with two minutes left in regulation and Ashley Birmingham found Kyra McKeegan to convert the opportunity. It was McKeegan's sixth goal of the season and Birmingham's third assist.
The Aggies will return home for another MAC Freedom contest when they welcome the Arcadia University Knights on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
