Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

McKeegan's Record Setting Day Not Enough To Overcome Muhlenberg At Home

DOYLESTOWN (Pa.) --- The Delaware Valley women's lacrosse team hosted their fourth of five home games to start the season, but was overcome by non-conference foe Muhlenberg, 20-3.

The Mules (4-0) got out to a 7-0 lead after 7:09 of play thanks to a pair of goals each from Samantha Eyton, Ava Milia, and Nicole Steiner.

Ashley Brimingham got the Aggies (1-3) on the board after Kyra McKeegan found her in the middle of the field and she released a quick shot to beat the keeper. It was the sixth goal of the season for Birmingham, and the 13th assist for McKeegan who also tied the all-time career mark with her 33rd assist.

The Mules scored the next five before Birmingham netted her second of the game on an unassisted tally with 6:48 left in the half. Birmingham scooped up a Muhlenberg turnover, and led a 3-on-1 transition for DelVal. She took it herself as she drove down the middle and fired a bounce shot into the top of the net.

Muhlenberg led 14-2 at the half.

After the Mules scored five in the third, McKeegan picked up her milestone assist when she found Susan Rawding for her first of the day and team-leading 11th of the season. McKeegan's second assist on the game placed her in sole possession of the program's career assist record.

Four different players for the visitors scored three or more goals led by Eynon with four goals, while Lily Seifert, Milia, and Lauren Cherven each recorded a hat trick.

Birmingham led the Aggies with four groundballs and three caused turnovers, while Rawding has now scored in all four games for the Aggies this year. Goalkeeper Caroline Berg played all 60 minutes with 12 saves.

The Aggies will conclude their five-game home stint Saturday, March 18th against Cedar Crest College at 4 p.m.
