Offense Shines in 20-7 Win Over Marywood

DOYLESTOWN (Pa.)--- The Delaware Valley University baseball team collected 20 hits to score 20 runs, including a ten-run sixth inning, in a high-scoring, non-conference 20-7 victory over Marywood on Wednesday.

The Aggies (5-7) came out hot, scoring four runs in the bottom of the first on five hits. Hank Bielen got the scoring started with an RBI single. Andrew Schendier followed Bielen with a run-scoring single of his own to extend the lead to 2-0 before a two-run double by Kenny Tunison finished off the scoring in the bottom of the first for the Aggies.

The score remained 4-0 until the top of the fourth when Marywood (7-6) got on the board with a pair of runs from a sacrifice fly and an RBI single. DelVal quickly got those runs back plus more in the bottom half of the frame with four runs of their own. Blake Ramos drove in a run with an RBI single to extend the lead to 5-2. Ramos would then pull off a double steal with Andrew Panfile, as Panfile swiped home for the Aggies' sixth run. Bielen capped off the inning with a two-run homerun to left, making the score 8-2.

A Pacer run in the fifth made it 8-3 before Andrew Panfile came through with a two-run single in the bottom half to grow the lead to 10-3. Marywood answered with one in the sixth to trim the deficit to 10-4.

In the bottom of the sixth, DelVal put together their biggest inning of the season, scoring ten runs on nine hits while taking advantage of two Pacer errors. After a Nate Rice RBI single got the scoring started, Liam Martin followed with a two-run triple to make it 13-4. After a run came in on a throwing error, Andrew Panfile came through with the second RBI triple of the inning to score Garrett Zimmerman. Blake Ramos drove in a run with a single and Schneider brought home a pair with a single of his own, making the score 18-4. A Tunison RBI double and another Pacer error finished off the scoring for the Aggies.

Kenny Tunison went 3-for-5 for the Aggies with three doubles, two RBIs and two runs scored. Hank Bielen went 3-for-4 with a homerun, three RBIs, three runs scored and a walk. Andrew Schneider also had three hits, going 3-for-5 with three RBIs and three runs scored.
