GAME ONE
After a scoreless first inning, Misericordia got on the board first in the second with four runs on four hits and a pair of Aggie errors.
The Cougars added two runs in the third on a two-run single and a run in the fourth on an RBI single to take a 7-0 lead into the fifth.
In the fifth, the hosts exploded for a massive 14 run inning that included 11 hits, with the biggest one being a grand slam by Owen Ayers. Misericordia added three doubles in the inning and seven singles to put the exclamation point on the game. The Cougars added a pair of runs in the sixth inning to extend their lead to 23-0.
In the top of the seventh, the Aggies got on the board with an RBI single by Andrew Schenider, one of three hits in the game for DelVal.
Misericordia recorded 24 hits in the game, with 16 different players recording a hit. Jack Regenye, who entered the game as a pinch hitter, went 3-for-3 with four RBIs to lead Misericordia.
Tyler Leonard allowed just one hit in five scoreless innings on the mound with six strikeouts and no walks.
GAME TWO
The second game of the doubleheader was much of the same, as the Cougars scored two runs in the first inning on an RBI double and an RBI groundout.
Misericordia kept their foot on the gas in the second, scoring six runs on six hits to extend their lead to 8-0. The Cougars used a two-run triple, two one-run singles and a two-run single.
In the bottom of the fourth, Brendan Gray hit a bases-clearing triple and Nick Giardino hit a sacrifice fly to extend the lead to 12-0.
The Cougars continued to swing hot bats as they added six runs including a grand slam from Kyle Sincavage to make it 18-0.
Kenny Tunison had an RBI double in the top of the seventh for the Aggies lone run.
Twelve different Cougars recorded hits in the game as the hosts tallied 15 hits.
The Aggies return to action Tuesday, March 21st for a non-conference home matchup against Neumann at 3:30PM.
