Aggies Overcome 19 Point Deficit to Beat Shoremen 61-59

Doylestown, Pa. - The Delaware Valley men's basketball team overcame a 19-point deficit in the first half to defeat Washington College of Maryland in the final minutes.

After the first bucket for the Aggies fell for Colin MacAdams, the Shoremen quickly began to build their lead, and at the halfway mark of the first half, were leading 16-8. Down by 15 points, Tyriq Toney-Bailey found Zoelin Pair in the paint who slammed home a dunk to liven the crowd. The largest advantage of the day came with three minutes to go when the Shoremen's Sam Corrao stepped back for a three. Rasheem Dearry and Godly Marc brought the Aggies within ten before the horn sending the teams into the break.

After Jordan Gombs sank a jumper, a block by Marc sent his team the other way for a Dearry three-point bucket. Washington climbed up to another sizable 15-point advantage after misses piled up for DelVal. The Aggies capitalized on Washington fouls and Goddy Marc hit a three to hit the game for the first time since 0-0. After yelling from the visiting bench, the Shoremen coach was given a technical foul, Brendon Bradford earned one earlier in the half. The squads traded baskets in a loud James Work Gymnasium, but it wasn't until the final minute and 14 seconds when Antonio Redding hit a three to snag the first lead of the game for the Aggies. Redding then sank two free throws which sealed the victory for DelVal.

Following the victory, Delaware Valley improved to 5-3 overall and next hit the court on Saturday, Dec. 16 when they travel to New York University at 1:00 p.m.
