Doylestown, Pa. - The Delaware Valley men's soccer team dropped their fifth straight game on senior day after a costly turnover gifted King's College a goal in the second half on Saturday afternoon.
Most of the first half was spent in the middle of the field as both teams struggled to find any meaningful scoring chances. King's player Shane Serio was given a yellow card in the 29th minute after fouling Danny Henson. DelVal led the first 45 minutes with four shots and nine corners. Starting goalkeeper Liam Morris only had to make one save.
The Monarchs controlled the place of play in much of the second half, going on to out-shoot the Aggies 12-1. The lone goal of the game came when a pass back to DelVal keeper Andrew Roberto put him in a tough position and he ended up kicking it right to Serio who then kicked it up and over Roberto at 80:58. In the following minute, yellow cards were issued to King's Evan Egnatovich then their coach Connor Keenan who tried to argue the call.
Following the loss, the Aggies fell to 3-6-2 overall and 0-2-0 in MAC Freedom play. They will look to get back in the win column on Tuesday, October 10, taking on Ursinus College in Collegeville, Pa. at 7:30 p.m.
