Doylestown, Pa.- Delaware Valley Field Hockey hosted the Ducks of Stevens on Saturday, October 21st under the lights at Robert A. Lapinski Field. The Aggies entered tonight's matchup coming off back to back wins in the MAC Freedom Conference against FDU Florham and Kings. However, DelVal would go on and fall to Stevens by a score of 6-0.
Stevens would start off the scoring in the first four minutes of the game as junior Sarah Korczukowski blasts a shot in the back of the net to give the Ducks a 1-0 lead. Moments later, Stevens would extend their lead 2-0 as graduate student Lynda Farinella scored off a pass from Makenna Quigley. Eleventh goal of the season from Farinella which extends her lead as the Stevens team leader in goals scored. After some big saves from Aggies Senior
Alyssa Rudd, the Ducks would net their third goal of the game when sophomore Gabby Moroney scored her first goal of the season. Delaware Valley had a great scoring chance in the final minute of the first half but would enter the halftime break trailing 3-0. First year Sophia Cozza would join the action with a goal in the third period to extend the Ducks lead 4-0. Soon after, Sarah Korczukowski would make it 5-0 and score her second goal of the game. Sarah Korczukowski would close out her career best performance with a third goal in the beginning of the fourth quarter to make it 6-0 Ducks. First collegiate career hat trick for Sarah Korczukowski as she helped spark the Stevens offense to six goals in tonight's matchup.Stevens goaltenders Lily Weirzbicki and Maria Dante helped lead the Ducks to a combined shutout victory as Dante would go on to make the three lone saves for her team
