Delval Field Hockey Defeats Kings On The Road

 
Wilkes-Barre, Pa - After their first conference win of the season last weekend, Delaware Valley Field Hockey went on the road to Wilkes-Barre to take on the Monarchs of Kings. The Aggies would go on to defeat the Monarchs and earn their second consecutive victory in the MAC Freedom Conference. This win by Delaware Valley would mark the third time the Aggies defeated the Monarchs in the past four seasons. 

Delaware Valley would start off the scoring when senior Samantha McCurry scored within the first six minutes of play to give the Delval a 1-0 lead. The third goal of the season for Sam McCurry as she now has scored in three of the past six games for the Aggies. Delaware Valley played very dominant defense in the first period and didn't allow a single shot in the first fifteen minutes. Senior Ashley Birmingham would score a beautiful high arching shot in the second period to give the Aggies a 2-0 lead going into the half. Senior Sydney Keagle was given an assist on the goal by Birmingham. The third goal of the season as well for Ashley Birmingham as she now has nine points on the season. Kings would respond with a goal at the buzzer to cut the deficit within one as Hannah Chocallo scored with an assist from Jessie Smalley. In the fourth period, Sydney Keagle would pick up another point in today's conference matchup as she scores a massive goal to give the Aggies a 3-1 lead. With five minutes remaining in the game, Emma Clark would score off a pass from Ashley Thalassinos for the Monarchs to cut the deficit. The Aggies defense would hold strong and Delaware Valley would pick up their second win in conference. 

The Aggies will be back in action and looking for their third consecutive conference win on Saturday, October 21st as they host the Ducks of Stevens
