Doylestown, Pa. - The Delaware Valley women's soccer team was shutout by Arcadia University on Tuesday afternoon on Senior day 3-0. The Aggies recognized seniors Marabelle Burkert, Marley Bramsway, and Rachel Dudek.
The Knight's first goal came 13 minutes into the game scored by Angela Rosenberger. DelVal tallied just four shots in the first 45 minutes to Arcadia's 14, testing keeper Viola Anderson five times.
Arcadia picked up the pace in the second half, scoring just two minutes in, this time a goal by Abby Stephens after the ball bounced off an Aggie defender. In the 58th minute, a yellow card was given to Caroline Stokes after a collision that sidelined the DelVal player for the rest of the game. The Knights scored their third and final goal at the 79th minute, off the foot of Katerina Kiousis to secure the 3-0 victory. Anderson was busy all game, making a total of 15 saves.
Following the loss, the Aggies fell to 7-7-2 overall and remain winless at 0-3-1 in the MAC Freedom conference. Delaware Valley returns to the field on Saturday, October 21, taking on Misericordia in Dallas, Pa. At 1:00 p.m.
