Annville, Pa – An early goal for the Delaware Valley women's soccer team wasn't enough with Lebanon Valley scoring three straight goals to take the conference victory on a rainy Saturday afternoon.
After early saves from Viola Anderson, who made four through the first 15 minutes, the Aggies found the back of the net first. Jess Williamson ran around a defender and kicked a cross pass to Savannah Rennix who was standing at the post behind the goalie to knock it in, scoring her team-leading 17th of the season. The Lady Dutchman tied the game in the 31st minute with the momentum shifting towards them. In the next minute, LVC hit the crossbar and buried the rebound to take the lead, the goal credited to Jordan Lasky.
Lebanon Valley struck again ten minutes into the second half, Abrielle Miller beat the Aggie defender and sunk the ball inside the left post to make the score 3-1. LVC controlled much of the second half, but at 76:55 Marley Bramsway had an opportunity but was answered with a save by the goalkeeper. Anderson finished the game with ten saves as the Dutchman outpaced the Aggies in shots 26-13.
Following the loss, DelVal falls to 7-6-1 overall and 0-2-1 in the MAC Freedom. The Aggies next hit the field at home on Tuesday, October 17, hosting MAC Freedom opponent Arcadia University for senior day at 4:00 p.m.
