Blackmon Wins Women’s 5K, Perot Paces Men as Track and Field Competes at Alvernia

READING (Pa.)--- Alyssa Blackmon took home first place in the women's 5K and Brandon Perot finished in fourth out of 26 in the men's shot put, as men's and women's indoor track and field competed at Alvernia on Saturday.

WOMEN'S RESULTS

Blackmon's time of 20:26.36 was good enough for a first place finish for the junior and also allowed her to qualify for the MAC Championships.

In the women's shot put, Delaney Hilferty threw 10.10 meters to give her a third place finish out of 15 throwers and fired 9.88m in the weight throw.

Kait Jones' throw of 12.96 meters placed her in third out of 12 competitors in the weight throw.

Chante Newman ran 9.12 seconds in the 60 meter dash and 1:14.76 in the 400 meter dash.

In the 800 meter run, Kelly Hastings finished in 12th place with a time of 2:44.28 and Alysia Joseph took 14th at 2:45.50.

The women's 4x400 team of Blackmon, Joseph, Hastings and Paige Thompson ran 4:34.64 for third place.

MEN'S RESULTS

Brandon Perot threw 13.82m in the shot put for an impressive fourth place finish out of 26 throwers.

Moses Madison ran 55.92s for a sixth place finish in the 400 meter dash while running 2:35.51 in the 800 meter run.

Matthew Skikus set a PR in the 3,000 meter run with a time of 9:57.96.

Justin Rosenberger ran 2:35.51 in the 800 meter run.

Carter Owen finished the 5,000 meter run at 17:40.10.

The 4x200 team of Logan Cooper, Moses Madison, Wayne Hamilton and Matt O'Dunlami ran 1:36.76 for a third place finish.

Wayne Hamilton competed in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.62s.

James Mahana set PRs in the weight throw (13.55m, 6th place) and in the shot put (13.24m, 7th place).

John Mahana also set a PR in the shot put at 11.19m in 13th place.

Greg Gripe finished the shot put in 14th place at 11.04m.

The Aggies will travel to Ramapo on Friday for their next meet.
