ST. DAVIDS (Pa.)--- The Delaware Valley field hockey team traveled to Eastern University for non-conference action on Tuesday and came away on the losing end 2-0.
Both teams moved to 3-6 on the season.
The teams played through a scoreless first quarter that saw the Aggies outshoot Eastern 2-1. Each team turned up the offensive opportunities in the second, with both firing off five shots apiece. Morgan Unruh was able to find the back of the cage with just under five minutes left in the half to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead heading into halftime.
Sydney Davis was able to grow the Eastern lead in the third, as her third goal of the season extend the lead to 2-0 and wrapped up the scoring for the day.
Eastern outshot DelVal in the second half 7-2, finishing with 13 shots to nine for the Aggies.
Ashley Birmingham fired five shots with four on goal to lead DelVal.
Alyssa Rudd made five saves in the cage for the Aggies.
The Aggies will return to MAC Freedom play on Saturday, October 1st as they visit Arcadia for a 1 p.m. start.
