Women's Soccer Earns 4-1 Road Victory At Penn State Abington

ABINGTON (Pa.) – The Delaware Valley University women's soccer team got two goals and an assist from Jess Williamson in a 4-1 triumph at non-conference foe Penn State Abington on Wednesday afternoon.

The Aggies improved to 4-2-1 overall while the Nittany Lions fell to 2-4-1.

The home team got on the board early in the game when Madison McDowell scord an unassisted tally for her sixth goal of the season just 4:40 into regulation to make it 1-0.

DelVal countered late in the second half with two goals from Williamson in a span of 12 minutes, 10 seconds to take a 2-1 lead it never relinquished. Williamson scored her first goal after gathering her own rebound and netted her second off a nice pass up the right side from Sydney Dispoto in the 44th minute.

The Aggies held a 7-3 advantage in shots on goal in the first half.

In the second half DelVal scored another two goals in quick order, this time separated by just 48 seconds. Off a corner kick, Kara Kramer bent a shot directly into the net for her first goal of the season. Moments later, Williamson sent a perfect cross into the box where Dispoto was there to get a foot on it and deposit her first goal of the season and the fourth of her career. Williamson upped her season totals to seven goals and three assists for 17 points.

The Aggies finished the game with 11 shots on goal to five for the home team. Olivia Sherwood and Viola Anderson split time in net and each recorded two saves.

DelVal will take its three-game unbeaten streak to Immaculata on Saturday for a 1:30 p.m. non-conference contest.
