Offense Shines for Women’s Soccer in 6-2 Win Over Mount Aloysius

DOYLESTOWN (Pa.)--- The Delaware Valley women's soccer team displayed a powerful offense on their home turf Saturday, as the Aggies dominated in a 6-2 win over Mount Aloysius.

Just under ten minutes in, Marabelle Burkert made a nice pass ahead to Vanessa Dohoney who found the back of the net to put the Aggies (3-2-1) in front 1-0. Fifteen minutes later, Jess Williamson had a breakaway after a long pass from Kylee Hetrick and Williamson was able to beat the keeper, giving the Aggies a 2-0 lead heading into halftime.

The offense continued to flourish in the second half, as ten minutes in, Dohoney scored her second goal of the game on a breakaway. Just two minutes later, Dohoney chipped a nice pass over a defender to lead a break for Williamson who scored her second tally of the contest to put DelVal up 4-0. Just over a minute later, Burkert made another nice pass to Dohoney and the graduate student finished off her impressive day with her third goal for her first career hat trick.

After Jasmine Hinton scored two impressive goals for the Mounties, Marley Bramsway ripped a shot from 30 yards out with a minute left and placed a perfect ball in the upper right corner of the goal for her first goal of the season.

Viola Anderson made three saves in net for the Aggies in the first half while Nicole Shisler and Sierra Hahn each made two as the two first-years split the second half of action.

The Aggies will be back in action on Wednesday, September 21st for a 4 p.m. start at Penn State Abington.
