BRYN MAWR (Pa.) – The Delaware Valley University field hockey team saw its two-game win-streak come to an end in a 2-0 non-conference set back at Bryn Mawr College on Wednesday evening.
The Aggies dropped to 2-3 overall while the Owls moved to 4-1.
Bryn Mawr held an 8-1 advantage in shots on goal for the game and had 14 corner opportunities to the visitor's one.
The Owls broke the scoreless tie with 1:23 left in the first quarter when Annick Van Blerkom found Thekla Jubinville for her second goal of the season to make it 1-0 after one.
DelVal got the first shot in the second quarter but it went wide off the stick of TJ Smith. The Aggies went into the half time break still trailing by one.
Out of the break, Morgan Bristow got a shot on goal for DelVal but it was stopped by keeper Maggie Titus and neither team registered another shot on goal until the fourth quarter.
Just over a minute into the final stanza, Lilith Weinlick scored her first of the season off an assist from Hazel Miller to make it a 2-0 game and ultimately seal the win for the home team.
Alyssa Rudd played all 60 minutes in the cage and recorded six saves while Titus made one save down the other end.
The Aggies will host Cedar Crest on Saturday, September 17 at noon.
