DALLAS (PA)--- The Delaware Valley baseball team fell behind early and could never dig themselves out of a hole, as the Aggies dropped game one of their final MAC Freedom series of the season, 27-7, at Misericordia.
The host Cougars (25-13, 14-5) pushed across six runs in the first on six hits to jump on top early. An RBI double in the bottom of the second extended the lead to 7-0.
Kenny Tunison got the Aggies (14-22, 3-16) on the board in the third with an RBI single to score Timmy Lallis. A Connor Maryniak three-run homerun and a Brock Bollinger RBI single in the bottom of the frame grew the Cougar lead to 11-1.
After Andrew Panfile led off the top of the fifth with a single, Timmy Lallis ripped his second career homerun to right field. Shawne Eldridge drove home a run later in the inning with a single and Jonathan Drews followed with an RBI double to trim the deficit to 11-5. The Cougars got those four runs right back in the inning with a two-run triple and two-run homerun.
Misericordia tacked on three runs in the sixth, four in the seventh and five in the eighth. The Aggies added one in the sixth on a Lallis sacrifice fly and one in the ninth on a Blake Ramos RBI groundout.
The Cougars collected 28 hits as a team and saw nine players record multiple hits, with five of those recording three hits.
Timmy Lallis led the Aggies offense going 2-for-2 with a homerun, two runs scored, three RBIs and a walk.
DelVal will wrap up their season at home tomorrow against Misericordia for a doubleheader starting at 12 p.m. and will honor their two seniors, Shawne Eldridge and Timmy Lallis, on senior day.
