Women's Lacrosse Overcome At MAC Freedom Front-Runner FDU-Florham

MADISON (Nj.) – The Delaware Valley University women's lacrosse team travelled to Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom front-runner FDU-Florham on Wednesday and suffered a 25-1 defeat.

The Devils improved to 14-2 overall and 7-0 in league play to claim the number-one seed ahead in the MAC Freedom playoffs, while the Aggies dropped to 1-13 and 0-7.

Junior Lizzy Escudero scored five goals and assisted on 10 others for a game-high 15 points to lead the Devils who held a 19-0 lead at halftime. Katie Walsh added five goals and an assist for six points as 15 different players registered a point for the home team.

DelVal scored with 5:47 left in regulation thanks to two of its seniors. Gabby Borst streaked down the middle of the field with the ball and found Jaden Keefer wide open in front of the net, and she made no mistake in beating the keeper.

Four different players recorded a caused turnover for the Aggies including Kiara Haywood-Rivera who led the team with three ground balls. Katie Frey played all 60 minutes in goal and made eight saves.

DelVal will wrap-up its season on Saturday, April 30 at home against DeSales. Before the game, the Aggies will honor their three seniors with a special senior day ceremony.
