DOYLESTOWN (Pa.) – The Delaware Valley University women's lacrosse team capped its 2022 campaign with a senior day celebration before dropping its final Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom game of the season to DeSales University, 18-3.
The Aggies honored seniors Gabby Borst, Jaden Keefer, and TJ Smith before the final game with a senior day ceremony. The three combined for 101 games played, 78 points, 62 goals, and 16 assists in their careers.
With the win, the Bulldogs improved to 8-9 overall and 4-4 in league play to secure the fifth and final playoff spot. DelVal finished the campaign 1-14 overall and 0-8 in MAC Freedom games.
Under clear skies and warm weather, DeSales raced out to a 6-0 lead before Kyra McKegan found Ashley Birmingham open in front to make it 6-1 just before the end of the first quarter.
The assist was McKeegan's 18th of the season and tied the program's single-season record.
In the second, the Bulldogs outscored the Aggies, 7-1, to take a 13-2 lead into halftime. Birmingham found the back of the net for her team-best 19th goal of the season off a feed from the senior, Borst, with 6:54 left in the half.
After DeSales opened the scoring to start the third quarter, Keefer setup Susan Rawding from behind the net to make it a 14-3 game. It was Rawding's 16th goal of the season while the senior, Keefer, picked up her seventh assist.
The Bulldogs tacked on one more in the third and scored three in the fourth for the 18-3 final. Marina Bradley led the team with six goals and six assist for 12 points and six other players recorded multiple points.
