DOYLESTOWN (Pa.) – The Delaware Valley University women's lacrosse team hosted Lycoming College in a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom tilt on Saturday afternoon, but dropped a 19-4 decision.
The Warriors (8-7) got nine points on two goals and seven assists from first-year Erin Henn to lead the way.
Lycoming held an 8-0 lead late in the first half before Aggie senior Jaden Keefer scored an unassisted tally to get DelVal (1-12) on the board and make it a seven-point game at the break.
The Aggies got a man-down tally in the third when Ashley Birmingham cleared the ball and took it right to the cage for her 17th of the season. Kiara Haywood-Rivera also scored in the third off a nice pass from behind the net by Kyra McKeegan, but the Warriors posted five goals in the stanza to take a 13-3 lead into the fourth.
Susan Rawding tacked on her 15th goal of the season late in regulation for DelVal, but it was not enough as the visitors scored six in the fourth to come away with the win.
Katie Frey and Caroline Berg split time in net and each made four saves for the Aggies while Zoe Stauffer played all 60 minutes down the other end and made 10 saves.
Birmingham had five ground balls and four caused turnovers for DelVal and Hannah Begg picked up three ground balls.
DelVal will take to the road for its next MAC Freedom contest at FDU-Florham on Wednesday, April 27 at 4 p.m.
