Men’s Lacrosse Downed by Montclair State

DOYLESTOWN (PA)--- The Delaware Valley men's lacrosse fell behind early and couldn't recover against visiting Montclair State, as the Aggies fell 17-5 in non-conference action Saturday afternoon.

The Red Hawks netted two goals in the first 6:20 to take a 2-0 lead. Ben Napierlaski answered 50 seconds later with the Aggies' first goal of the game to trim the lead to 2-1. Montclair State quickly responded with the final four goals of the first quarter to lead 6-1 after 15 minutes.

It was all Montclair State in the second quarter, as the visitors scored all six goals of the second quarter in a downpouring of hail to hold a 12-1 lead heading into the break.

The Red Hawks continued their strong play in the third, scoring all four goals to lead 16-1 heading to the fourth.

After the visitors extended their lead to 17-1, Cole Graeff, George Evanick, Brandon Keller and Jack Sprinkle each scored a goal to round out the fourth quarter.

Christian Boyle scored a game-high four goals for Montclair State, while Tyler McCreery and Joe Covino each netted three.

The Aggies will return to action Wednesday, March 30th as they visit Wilkes for a 7 p.m. contest to open MAC Freedom play.
