DOYLESTOWN (Pa.)--- The Delaware Valley women's volleyball team took on MAC Freedom foe FDU-Florham and the visiting Devils came away with a 3-0 victory.
The Devils (5-8, 2-2) and the Aggies (7-7, 1-3) went back and forth for the beginning of the first set, as the scored was tied at 13-13 with neither team leading by more than two. The Devils were able to put together a 7-2 run to lead 20-15 before eventually coming away with a 25-19 victory.
The second set belong to FDU from the beginning, with the Devils racing out to an 8-2. DelVal was able to cut the lead to four at 13-9, but FDU scored eight consecutive points to go up 21-9. The Aggies were unable to make a big push and dropped the second set 25-15.
DelVal responded nicely to begin the third set, as they jumped out to a 6-2 advantage. The Aggies continued to lead for most of the set before the Devils tied it up at 17-17. FDU would end up putting together an 8-1 burst to lead 23-18 before winning 25-20 and completing the sweep.
Adrienne Defuria led all players with 15 kills and Gabbie Hart had nine. Grace Kane had a team-high ten kills while Gretta Schenider contributed nine.
The Aggies return to action tomorrow for a non-conference match against Clarks Summit and 7 p.m.
