Women’s Soccer Drops MAC Freedom Contest at King’s

WILKES BARRE (Pa.)--- The Delaware Valley women's soccer team traveled up to King's College for their second Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom game this year and come out on the losing end 6-0.

After a scoreless first 26 minutes that saw each team put together their fair share of chances, the Monarchs struck first with a goal for Liz Porto. Neither team was able to find the back of the net the remainder of the first half, as King's held a 1-0 lead over the Aggies (6-5-1, 0-2-0) heading into the break.

The Monarchs (7-2-2, 1-1-0) wasted no time in the second half adding to their lead, as Jenna Waldbillig and Raina Adelman each scored a goal in under four minutes to quickly grow the lead to 3-0. Adelman then added another goal and Lauren Chapple and Maryanna Garcia tallied a goal to round out the scoring.

Jess Williamson and Gillian Baker each had two shots on goal for the Aggies while Olivia Sherwood made nine saves and Viola Anderson made three.

DelVal returns to action Friday for a home contest against FDU-Florham at 4 p.m.
