DOYLESTOWN (Pa.) – The Delaware Valley University volleyball team dropped a three-set match at Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom foe Misericordia University on Tuesday night. The Cougars won with set scores of 25-13, 25-19, and 25-17.
Misericordia (15-6, 3-2 MAC Freedom) had 41 kills and 14 errors with 10 aces in the match, and held the Aggies (8-8, 1-4 MAC Freedom) to 21 kills and 13 errors with two service aces.
Individually for DelVal, senior Cat Nemil dished out 20 assists and junior Olivia Deffendall led the team with eight kills and a service ace. Grace Kane followed with seven kills to go with seven digs while Victoria Tucker added three kills and Emma Helverson tallied two kills and a block.
The Cougars were helped by Jenna Schuda's 33 assists, nine digs, four kills and an ace. Also, Fiona Pyfer knocked down eight kills and two aces and Adele Decker finished with three aces. Ten different players in total scored for the home team.
The Aggies will look to bounce-back at home on Thursday in a non-conference affair with Penn State Abington beginning at 7 p.m.
