LYCOMING (Pa.) – The Delaware Valley University women's soccer team suffered a 2-0 setback at Lycoming College in the first Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom contest of the 2022 season.
The Warriors (7-2-2, 1-0 MAC Freedom) got on the board first when Bella Green sent a long cross to Bridget Maaloum who collected it at the top of the box and sent a high lofted shot over the hands of Olivia Sherwood and into the net to give the home team a 1-0 lead with 18 minutes left in the first half.
Lycoming outshot DelVal, 25-2 for the game and had a 7-1 edge in corner kicks Green added a goal in the 81st minute to secure the 2-0 victory. Maaloum earned the assist on the goal.
The Aggies (6-4-1, 0-1 MAC Freedom) got a career-high 23 saves from Sherwood who played all 90 minutes in goal and Jess Williamson had two shots on target.
DelVal will look to bounce-back with another conference road game at King's at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
