Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Williamson's Tallies Eight Points; Women's Soccer Earns Another Shutout, 7-0 At Brooklyn

Brooklyn (NY)- First-year Jess Williamson continued her dominant start to the season with an eight-point effor on three goals and two assists to lead the Delaware Valley University women's soccer team to a 7-0 non-conference victory over Brooklyn College on Saturday afternoon.

The shutout is the team's sixth of the season as the Aggies improve to 6-1 overall with their third-straight win.

After her eight-point performance, Williamson, the first-year from Lititz, Pennsylvania and Warwick High School, now leads all players in NCAA women's soccer, across all divisions, in goals (14) and points (33). Just this week, the forward has racked up 11 goals and two assists in three games.

Williamson needed just 2:29 in this one to get on the board as she forced a turnover and went low-right to beat the keeper and make it 1-0. Less than seven minutes later, in the 10th minute, Williamson took a feed from fellow rookie Meztly Garcia and deposited her second of the game.

The Aggies outshot the Bulldogs, 17-1, in the half and held a 7-0 advantage in corners through 45 minutes.

Early in the second half, Sidney Dispoto found the back of the net twice in a span of 11:49 to give DelVal a 4-0 lead with 28:50 left in regulation. Her first of the game was the first of her career, and Williamson earned an assist on the play.

Down the stretch, Garcia scored twice and Williamson added her third of the day to seal the 7-0 victory. Garcia finished with two goals and an assist, Dispoto finished with two goals, and picked up an assist, her second of the season.

Viola Anderson earned the save in goal for DelVal with one save in 90 minutes. The Aggies will open conference play on Saturday, October 2 against 10th ranked Misericordia University.
