DOYLESTOWN (Pa.) -- The Delaware Valley University field hockey team scored early and often en route to a 10-0 triumph over visiting Bryn Athyn College as six different players found the scoresheet including sophomore
Kyra McKeegan who set a new program record with five assists in the game.
The Aggies (1-6) jumped on the Lions less than five minutes into the game as they earned a corner opportunity and McKeegan poked the ball to senior
Gillian Nardelli at the far post who tapped it home for the 1-0 lead. DelVal scored five in the first 15 minutes to take a 5-0 lead into the second quarter. McKeegan assisted on three of the five first quarter tallies.
Off a corner in the second quarter,
Jess Dixon found Nardelli for her second of the game and a 6-0 advantage. Moments later, McKeegan setup
Maiya Wendel for her first of the game and second of the season.
In the second half,
TJ Smith scored twice to complete their first-career hat trick and Dixon followed suit with her third of the afternoon to give DelVal a 10-0 lead and ultimately seal the victory.
Smith finished with three goals and eight shots on target, Dixon added three goals and an assist, Nardelli finished with two goals and an assist, and McKeegan finished with five assists.
