WILLIAMSPORT (Pa.) -- The Delaware Valley University volleyball team made the long trip to Lycoming College for a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom bout against the Warriors, but came home on the wrong end of a 3-0 decision. The home team won by scores of 25-4, 25-13, and 25-20.
Lycoming (8-10, 2-2 MAC Freedom) outplayed the Aggies (2-10, 0-5 MAC Freedom) in the first set with 14 kills and just two errors to just two kills and four errors for DelVal. The home team duplicated the effort in the second set and the Aggies managed six kills and four errors.Â
In the third set, DelVal used an 8-2 run behind the serving of
Victoria Tucker to take a 10-6 lead and maintained a 12-7 advantage after a service ace from
Grace Kane. The Warriors countered with a 4-0 run to pull within one, 13-2, but the Aggies kept them at bay and maintained a one-point lead, 19-18, late in the set. From there, Lycoming scored seven of the final eight points in the match to clinch the 25-20 game three victory and the match final.Â
Senior
Jules Campbell made her first start of the season and recorded four kills and two digs while fellow senior
Reilly Green followed with four kills, two assists, and a service ace.
Emma Helverson dished out eight assists and added five digs.
Gretta Schneider had a team-high 12 digs.Â
