DALLAS (Pa.) -- Host Misericordia University scored two first half goals and held on the rest of the way to take a 2-0 victory over the Delaware Valley University men's soccer team in the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom opener.
The Cougars (6-1, 1-0) broke the scoreless tie in the 27th minute when Eric Goldberg found Brandon Ebersole with a long pass for Ebersole's first of the year. Anthony Yarabinee made it a 2-0 game in the 42nd minute. He got to the far post and got his head on a cross from Colin Deckert for his first of the season.
The Aggies (4-5, 0-1) were held without a shot through the first 45 minutes. Keeper

Andrew Roberto in the 18th minute, made some big saves down the stretch, but the offense managed just one shot and the home team held on for the 2-0 win.
DelVal will host Stevens Institute of Technology in another MAC Freedom bout on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
