WILKES-BARRE (Pa.) -- The Delaware Valley University men's soccer team played its final road contest of the 2021 campaign at Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom rival Wilkes University on Wednesday night, but came home on the wrong end of a 3-0 defeat.
The Colonels moved into playoff position in the MAC Freedom standings with a 4-3 mark (11-6 overall) to slot them fourth. The Aggies fell to 0-7 and 4-11.
Wilkes scored late in the first half and early in the second and added one in the 65th minute to seal the home triumph. Lucas Mueller assisted Ryan Marr for the first and then netted his second of the season for the Colonels third of the game. Andrew Reichard scored his fifth of the season in the 50th minute off an assist from Matthew Horwedel for the team's second of the game.
DelVal had two corner opportunities and two shots toward cage, but could not crack the scoreboard.
Andrew Roberto played all 90 minutes in goal and made seven saves.
