CENTER VALLEY (PA)--- The Delaware Valley University women's soccer team surrendered three second half goals to host DeSales (11-3, 4-1), as the Bulldogs defeated the Aggies 4-1 in a Middle Atlantic Freedom (MAC) Freedom contest.
Meghan Foley got the scoring started, as she re-directed a pass from Sam Monteforte into the back of the net to put DeSales in front 1-0 in the 11th minute. The Bulldogs would generate multiple chances over the next 15 minutes, but Olivia Sherwood made three saves over that span to keep it a 1-0 game.
Delaware Valley (6-7, 0-6) took advantage of their first opportunity of the game, as Jess Williamson placed a perfect shot in the upper right corner for her MAC Freedom leading 16th goal of the season to tie the game 1-1 in the 34th minute.
After heading into halftime tied at one, DeSales took control of the game early in the second half. In the 47th minute, Foley found herself with possession after a pass from Allie Trick and netted her second goal of the game to put the Bulldogs back in front 2-1. She would then cash in on her third goal of the game just 6:20 later, as she headed in a pass from Monteforte to extend the DeSales lead to 3-1. Sammy McBride would give the Bulldogs insurance in the 81st minute, as she knocked home a rebound to make it 4-1.
DeSales outshot Delaware Valley 46-3 and put 23 shots on net. Olivia Sherwood finished the game with a season-high 19 saves.
