MALVERN (Pa.) – The Delaware Valley University women's lacrosse team surrendered nine-straight goals to open the game and suffered its first road loss of the season, 17-3, to the Immaculata Might Macs.
Immaculata (2-3) scored nine goals before
Natalie VanOrden got the first shot and goal of the game for the Aggies (1-2) at the 10:03 mark of the first half to make it 9-1. The Might Macs went on to score three more prior to halftime for a 12-1 advantage at the break.
Amanda McKeegan scored twice in the second half, including one goal on a man-up advantage, but Immaculata tacked on an additional five for the 17-3 victory.
Layne Kennedy led the home team with nine goals and five other players had at least one including Maura Murray who finished with three goals and three assists for six points.
Freshman
Liv Valentine got her first career start for the Aggies and made 10 saves in just under 40 minutes of play.
Shannon Hood made four saves in relief.
DelVal will return home Saturday March, 7 for a 1 p.m. game versus the Chatham University Cougars.
