ALLENTOWN (PA) – Muhlenberg College scored ten minutes into the game and netted three goals over the course of the second half for a 4-0 victory over the visiting Delaware Valley University women's soccer team.
The Mules improved to 4-0 while the Aggies slipped to 1-2.
Noemi Di Cori gave Muhlenberg all the scoring it would need as she found the back of the net from just outside the six-yard line for the 1-0 lead. It stayed that way until the second half despite DelVal being outshot 8-0 in the first half.
Less than one minute into the second half, Emily DeAngelo scored to make it 2-0. Isabel Schwartz added on to the lead with a goal in the 80
th minute, and one more in the 88
th minute.
Muhlenberg outshot DelVal 17-0 with nine shots on goal. The Mules also had all eight of the game's corner kicks. Junior
Haley Young kept the Aggies in the contest with nine saves, including seven in the second half.
DelVal will travel to Gwynedd Mercy University for a non-conference game on Thursday, September 12 at 6 p.m.
