CENTER VALLEY (Pa.) -- The Delaware Valley University volleyball team took to the court in its first Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom match of the season against 2018 conference runner-up DeSales University on Tuesday night, but fell in straight sets, 3-0. Set Scores were 25-12, 25-10, 25-13.
The Bulldogs, who were the top-seed entering last year's MAC Freedom playoffs, improved to 5-9 overall and 1-1 in league play while the Aggies fell to 2-8 and 0-2.
DelVal had 11 kills on the night compared to 36 by the host team.
Laura Sweger led the way with four and
Krista Hiller followed with two.
Tara Moffa led the Aggies with seven digs and
Caitlin Nemil dished out 10 assists, while
Reilly Green led the defense at the net with two blocks.
DeSales was charged by eight kills from Morghan Shoemaker and six by Delanie Zohler and Diane Pugay. Audrey Wolfe dished out a match-high 24 assists and four aces and McKenzie Brady had nine digs.
The Aggies will head to the Goucher Tri-Match this weekend where they'll take on the Gophers and New Jersey City University beginning at 1 p.m.
