Volleyball Drops Both Matches At Goucher Tri-Match

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 TOWSON (Md.) – In the first match at the Goucher Tri-Match, the Delaware Valley University volleyball team dropped a 3-0 match to New Jersey City University. Set scores were, 25-21, 25-17, and 25-15.

Riley Green and Laura Sweger each had six kills for the Aggies (2-9) and Krita Hiller followed with five to go with a team-best 18 digs. Jess Ellick dug out 15 balls and led the squad with a pair of service aces. Green added a pair of solo blocks, defensively. Caitlin Nemil recoded a match-high 20 assists to go with 10 digs and two kills.

The Gothic Knights (5-8) were led by 10 kills apiece from Stephanie Duque and Yaidettive Vega as they also combined for 14 digs and three blocks. Madeline Lopez led the team with 17 digs and three service aces and Katrina Nguyendon dished out 20 assists.

The Aggies will take on Goucher to wrap-up the tri-match.

The host Goucher Gophers took on New Jersey City in the second match of the day and fell in straights sets, 3-0. 

The day's final match saw the DelVal volleyball team fall to Goucher, 3-0, by scores of 25-21, 25-18, and 25-15. 

The Gophers had 36 kills in the match compared to 19 for the Aggies. 

Tara Moffa led the way with five kills and 13 digs, while Hiller and Sweger followed with four kills each. Four different players had double-digit digs including Nemil who had 10 to go with her 14 assists. Moffa and Sweger added two service aces apiece. 

For Goucher, five different players registered five kills or more led by nine from Kayla Melchor and eight from Rachel Chapman.
