ROSEMONT (PA) – The Delaware Valley University men's soccer team battled back from a one-goal deficit to tie the game, but had to settle for a 1-1 draw at Rosemont College in a non-conference game.
The deadlock moved the Aggies' record to 3-1-1 on the season, and extends their unbeaten streak to four games, while the Ravens moved to 1-3-1.
Rosemont held a 7-4 advantage in shots through the first 45 minutes, but it's shots on target the edge was only 3-2. The Ravens capitalized on a PK late in the stanza as Josh Mason stepped to the line and converted for the 1-0 lead.
It would remain a 1-0 game through the first 26 minutes of the second half until Andre Permyashkin potted his first tally of the season.
Both teams had chances in the second half as each was awarded two corner kicks, but for the fourth consecutive game, the Aggies headed to overtime. DelVal was awarded the only corner opportunity of the extra frames but did not not manage to get a shot off after regulation.
The Ravens recorded a total of six shots through the two ten minutes overtime periods with two getting on net. Goalkeeper Josh Jarrett managed to save both shots in overtime and finished the game with four saves in the tie. Rosemont's keeper, Grant Gonzalez finished the game with two saves.
DelVal will host Berkeley College for a non-conference game on Saturday, September 14 at 5 p.m.
