DOYLESTOWN (Pa.) – After a strong first half of play, the Delaware Valley University women's lacrosse team was outscored, 12-2, in the second half by visiting Hood College as it ran away with the 18-8 road victory.
The Aggies dropped to 2-3 on the year while the Blazers improved to 8-1.
DelVal cracked the scoring first as sophomore
Claire Gamache netted her team-leading 18
th of the season just under four minutes into regulation.
From there, Hood scored three straight to go up 3-1. Tenley Reeder assisted on two of the tallies as three different players scored.
The Aggies responded with three unanswered goals of their own to regain the lead, 4-3.

The Blazers responded with the next two goals, including a man-down tally by Laura Skorobatsch, to make it 5-4 with four minutes left in the first half.
Gamache put DelVal ahead again with two goals in a span of 67 seconds, but Rachel Slater got the equalizer with a free-position shot just before the stanza ended to make it a 6-6 game at the break.
Hood came out in the second half on fire and scored 10 consecutive goals in 22:49 to take a commanding 16-6 lead with just eight minutes left in regulation. The Aggies got two on the board in the final five minutes, but surrendered another two for the 18-8 final.
Five different players had a multi-point game for the Blazers and three players scored at least four times led by Cassidy O'Neill's five goals. Skorobatsch and Slater each scored four and Reeder added a goal and three helpers.
Gamache led DelVal with four goals, six ground balls, six draw controls, and added three caused turnovers. McKeegan finished with a goal, three caused turnovers, and three ground balls.
Samantha Collyer scored twice and
Jaden Keefer notched one.
Amanda Dietrich played all 60 minutes in goal and made eight saves.
The Aggies will be back at home on Tuesday when they host Penn State Abington at 7 p.m.
